More Indian workers return from Iraq

Another batch of Indian workers stranded in Iraq, predominantly belonging to the state of Bihar, has returned to New Delhi today morning.

Sunny, who was amongst those who returned from Iraq, said, "The situation in Iraq is real bad. They made us work and didn't allow us to have anything. Indian Embassy has arranged tickets for us. We will never return to Iraq."

Daljit Raj, another worker who returned today morning said, "People are killing each other in Iraq. They made us work forcibly and we didn't have money to come back."

Ela Reddy also said, "There is a language problem. They didn't allow us to even have water and instead made us work."

 

Chartered flights are being organized and travel documents are being processed by the Indian Embassy in Baghdad for the Indian nationals who have registered to return home.

Four mobile teams of six persons each have been placed in Najaf, Karbala and Basra apart from Baghdad to collect the details of those who would like to leave for home.
