More than 18000 enthusiasts have filed nomination for their candidacy in the third and final rounds of the local polls in Nepal's province no. 2 of Nepal, according to the country's Election Commission.
The Election Commission of Nepal acknowledged applications from 18,200 enthusiastic candidates by 6:30 p.m. local time.
The election commission also said it was collecting and accessing the data's from the district election office.
It had called for application from the candidates in eight districts of Province no. 2 with an population of 26,64,792 eligible voters.
The province no. 2, which is the mainland for the Madhesh based parties and the restive district, will go to polls on September 18.
"The election which is slated for 18th of September for the third phase of polls in Province no. 2's eight districts having 136 local bodies Wednesday witnessed enthusiastic and peaceful filing of nomination in the Chief Election Officer and Election Officers office," said a release from the Election Commission.

Earlier, the government under the leadership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal, broke the election into three phases as the agitating parties threatened to boycott the polls.
The agitating parties at that time have demanded for the swift amendment of the constitution to ensure their participation in the election.
The election in the province no. 2 will choose 6627 representatives from 136 local levels.
The province no. 2 has One Metropolitan City, three Sub- Metropolitan City, 73 Municipality and 59 Rural Municipality.
The final list of eligible candidates will be published by Thursday evening.
