South African bowler Morne Morkel has praised teammate spinner Imran Tahir for causing the collapse of the West Indies batting order on the fourth day of the second Test in Port Elizabeth.
Tahir claimed crucial wickets of West Indies skipper Denesh Ramdin, Veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Sulieman Benn as they could only score 275 runs for the loss of nine wickets. The tourists trailed by 142 runs in the first innings at stumps on the fourth day.
Morkel said that Tahir had bowled very well for them, holding up one end while he and Dale Steyn rotated from the top end, Sport24 reported.
He further said that the wicket of Chanderpaul was crucial as they know he could bat for a long time.
