The matchmakers in Saudi Arabia are playing a very crucial role in assisting people looking to marry while living in a highly conservative society.

The Gulf News reports that limited sociability among local women has restrained the searches of people looking for a good bride for their son or a commendable husband for their daughter.

The matchmakers have a crucial role to play in a society where the sexes are strictly segregated, despite the blossoming marriage services offered by online social networks.

They use the details and pictures provided by the families to match candidates at suitable places like mosques and marriage functions, the report added.

Umm Ebrahim, eight years into this profession, said that she finds the mosques to be the best place in Ramadan for meeting potential brides who are religiously committed, because people insist on the religious character more than the beauty factor now.
