Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly backed striker Fernando Torres saying that the Spaniard still has a future at the club.

Despite saying that he was 'not happy' with Chelsea's striking options following their 3-1 Champions League defeat by Paris Saint-German in their recent clash, Mourinho said that Torres does have a future at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho said that they obviously want Torres to score more goals, as the striker has scored just nine goals in 33 games this season, the BBC reported.

The Chelsea boss said that during his period at the club Torres has had some important moments adding that he works hard for the team and brings things to the team.

Mourinho said that the former Liverpool striker is contracted and a good professional.

Chelsea bought Torres from Liverpool for a record fee of 50 million-pounds on a five-and-a-half year deal but he has struggled to recreate his best form in west London, scoring only a total of 44 goals in 164 appearances for the club, the report added.
