Chelsea football team manager Jose Mourinho has blasted the concept of award like FIFA's team of the year and has warned his players not to get big-headed.
Chelsea midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard were nominated for FIFA's team of the year. But Mourinho feels that that kind of trophy is not good for football and that is the reason he doesn't care about it.
Mourinho said that the team is much more important than anyone, adding that for me, that's clear and the players have to think about the team, The Daily Star reported.
He revealed some of his players in the past have got carried away with their own self-importance after winning accolades.
Mourinho admitted that he'd seen award-winning stars start thinking they were bigger than the team, and claimed that not one or two, more.
Prior to re-joining Chelsea last season, Mourinho had a stormy relationship with a number of players at Real Madrid, including 2010 World Cup Golden Glove winning goalkeeper Iker Casillas. He is also understood to have found megastar Cristiano Ronaldo difficult to deal with.
