Manchester United manager David Moyes has reportedly challenged Wayne Rooney to become the Old Trafford side's United's all-time leading scorer after the striker reached the 200-goal mark.

According to the Mirror, Rooney became only the fourth player in United history to achieve the milestone by scoring twice in a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen that gave Moyes a dream start in the Champions League.

Stating that Rooney can beat England legend Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 249 goals if he stays on at United, Moyes said that as only four people have scored 200 goals for United, Rooney has a chance to be one of the all-time leading goal-scorers at this club if he continued his form.

According to Moyes, the centre forward is in a good place and is happy like any other goal-scoring player, adding that to win Champions League, a club needs several world-class players, in which category Rooney can also be added.
