Manchester United boss David Moyes has praised his side for having an 'outstanding start' to their 3-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday at Craven Cottage.
Luis Antonio Valencia, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney all scored in the opening 20 minutes as United tore holes in the Fulham defence, effectively ending the game inside the first quarter and giving United a fourth straight victory in all competitions. According to the Mirror, despite Rafael, Johnny Evans and Tom Cleverley all succumbing to injuries at half-time, which forced Moyes into a triple substitution, the Scot said that the first 20 minutes were excellent even though the injuries disrupted his side's rhythm.
Stating that they expected Fulham to start 'brightly' given their bad result last week, Moyes said that the goals allowed them to relax in the game even though they did not play as well as they should have in the second half.
Fulham suffered their third loss in five home games despite responding via Alex Kacaniklic's deflected shot in the 65th minute, reports said.
