After winning his first Manchester United trophy of the Community Shield, David Moyes hit out at claims that absent Wayne Rooney was actually fit to play.
According to the Mirror, Rooney joined up with the England squad last night but Moyes, who once again insisted the striker would not be sold, said that he would not have sent a fit player to England.
A hamstring and then a shoulder injury had meant Rooney was training on his own or with the United reserves, but he is ready to start for Roy Hodgson's side against Scotland on Wednesday, the report said.
Moyes even said that Rooney had not played enough football and it could be visible in England's match against Scotland.
