MP Govt. announces three-day state mourning post Patwa's demise

The Madhya Pradesh government announces a three-day state mourning after the demise of former chief minister Sunder Lal Patwa.

The veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and two-times Madhya Pradesh chief minister passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack. He was 92 years old.

Patwa, who was born on November 11, 1924, in Kukreshwar, also served as the cabinet minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government from 1999 to 2001.

He began his political career with Jana Sangh, which merged with the Janata Party in 1977.
