Pune-based MP Group, pioneers in integrated support services, recently added another feather to its cap by winning a 10-year contract from Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to ply buses within Noida and Greater Noida.

The bus network will traverse prominent areas with 13 different route plans.

Speaking about this project, Abhishek Pathak, Managing Director MP Group, said, "The buses will be procured by the MP Group whereas infrastructural support in the form of ticket revenue collection and more will be provided by the NMRC. The buses we introduce will boast several modern features. These hi-tech, low floor A/C models will be equipped with Intelligent Transport Management System which will connect to bus stops and facilitate information about real time availability through GPS and PIS technology."

The company has developed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to efficiently implement its NMRC project for City Bus Service operation. Each bus will cost a crore while the total cost of the fleet is pegged at Rs.120 crores.

"This project will be an added advantage to take MP group to the next level of transport services," added Abhishek.

The contract is likely to pave the way for similar opportunities for MP Group to assist private sector players in the development of smart cities in India.

The MP Group is a leading Pune-based service provider, which is an expert in integrated support services. MP Group currently ferries 16,000 employees to their offices and covers more than 20 lakh kms on road every day with its network of cabs, tempo travellers and buses across Pune and Mumbai.
