Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra on Thursday asked small entrepreneurs of the country to participate in the 'Make in India' campaign to ensure its effective implementation as well as to further their own growth.
Addressing a symposium, Mishra said that owing to its inherent characteristics and innate strengths, the MSME sector will play a much larger role in the revival of the Indian economy.He further emphasized on zero-defect in production by the MSMEs so that the products can compete in the global market.
The Minister also said that his ministry is taking steps to ensure credit availability to the sector while upgrading the technology to increase the standards of products, adding that there is a need to make the sector attractive for capital investment to strengthen existing enterprises.
The MSME sector contributes 7.5 per cent to the GDP and provides employment to sizeable number of skilled and unskilled population.
