'Muhammad' becomes most popular name for boys in London

Harry and Amelia were the most popular baby names for 2012, for a second year in a row, a new study has revealed.

Riley has replaced Joshua in the boys' top 10 while Ruby and Grace have been ousted by Mia and Isla on the girls list by the Office for National Statistics.

The top name for a boy in London was found to be Muhammad, which bagged the 19th position over all, the Mirror reported.

However, had it been added to variations Mohammed and Mohammad it would have taken second place overall.

According to the bookies, the favourite name for next year is George, which is in 12th place this year.

2. Oliver

3. Jack

4. Charlie

5. Jacob

6. Thomas

7. Alfie

8. Riley

9. William

10. James.
