President Pranab Mukherjee, who is in Madhya Pradesh on a three-day official visit, will inaugurate the Shankaracharya Netralaya at Jhoteshwar, Narsinghpur, on Friday.
This Netralaya has been established by the Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati Charitable Trust for providing medical facilities for tribal population of the region.
He will also attend the first convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University at Amarkantak later in the day. This university was established in 2008 with the aim of providing avenues of higher education and research facilities primarily for the tribal population.
On June 8, Mukherjee will attend the first convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore.
After laying the foundation stone of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University near Bhopal yesterday, the President who addressed the gathering in Hindi to mark the occasion, said, "I call upon the university to take the initiative to build a strong innovation culture."
The university is being established at Mugalia Kot village near the state capital by the Madhya Pradesh government after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's name, who has been a strong votary of Hindi language.
