Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi on Friday said Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convened to sort out the seat sharing issue ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

"Mulayam Singh ji has called Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav to sort out the issue of seat sharing in Bihar. The meeting has been called to discuss this issue," Tyagi told ANI.

He downplayed the reports of disagreement within the 'Janta Parivar' over Mulayam Singh's leadership, saying that all the six parties have elected the Samajawadi Party chief as their leader 'unanimously'.

"There is no question about Mulayam Singh ji's leadership. All the six parties have unanimously chosen him as our leader," he said.

Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) leader Ali Anwar also backed the decision to choose Mulayam Singh as 'Janta Parivar' leader and hoped for a positive outcome from the meeting convened today.

"All of us have chosen Mulayam Singh ji unanimously as our leader, we have chosen him keeping the merger in mind. The other formalities like policy statement, election symbol, party flag will also be sorted out soon. We hope that the outcome of today's meeting is going to be positive," Anwar said.
