According to the founder and creator of the product, Tim Leatherman, the pocket tool is mostly favored for the fact that it incorporates a set of pliers, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Today, about 20 per cent Australians owns a Leatherman and the nation is the company's No. 2 export market after Germany.
More than 100,000 of the tools are sold each year in Australia, while many millions are sold around the world.
