A joint operation between a non-governmental organisation, My Home India, and the Maharashtra government has helped 65 children, who had run away from their homes, come closer to reuniting with their families.

Of the 65 children, the parents of 10 came to pick up their wards, while the remaining were sent back to their families in Bihar on a special coach of the Rajendra Nagar Superfast Express on Monday night.

The children were escorted home by nearly 30 personnel from the Mumbai Police, along with volunteers from My Home India.

Minister of State for Women and Child Development Vidya Thakur was also present at the railway station to give a send off to the children.
