Mumbai hooch death toll rises to 35

Even as Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry into a spurious liquor case in the Laxmi Nagar area of Mumbai, the death toll from the tragedy has risen to 35.

It is being reported that at least ten persons are still undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the city.

Mumbai Police has, in the meanwhile, confirmed the detention of Raju Fernandes aka Langda for his alleged role in the case.

The police has formed six teams to verify the number of people affected by the tragedy. It has also sealed the room where the liquor was being sold from and the house in which it was stored.
