Mumbai rains: B-town urges people to 'stay safe'

As the incessant rains hit the financial capital of our country, flooding vast areas of the city and throwing life out of gear; Bollywood celebrities urged the people of Mumbai to stay indoors and safe

The special weather forecast bulletin said that the active monsoon condition is likely to see Maharashtra experiencing a heavy spell of rain in the next three days.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt tweeted, "Heard about the heavy rains in Mumbai!!! Please be safe.. And PLEASE make some room for stray dogs and cats in your buildings & compounds! (sic)"

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's tweet said: "We were pulled out of our car just in time by generous strangers." ( Khar West , Mumbai. 4:30 pm )"

 

In the follow-up tweet, the ace-director added, "Wake up Mumbai !! This is the worst monsoon 'nightmare' !!! Just spoke to 2 of my sisters. They almost drowned in Khar West (sic)"

Desi girl, Priyanka Chopra tweeted, "Stay safe mumbai.....(sic)"

In another follow-up tweet, the 'quantico' star stated, "BMC helpline 1916. Police Helpline 100..Home is the safest.. for most. Find shelter and give shelter. Be safe Mumbai #mumbairains (sic)"

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza also tweeted, "Please do not venture out! If you can offer shelter to strays and people stuck in the rain please do. MCGM helpline number 1916 #MumbaiRains"

The follow-up tweet of the actress stated, "As I watch the torrential rain from the safety of my home, my heart goes out to all those vulnerable and affected... especially children."

Actress Shraddha? Lakoor also expressed her concern on Twitter, "Everyone please stay safe and indoors. Feel terrible about people and animals with no proper shelter or no shelter at all. #MumbaiRains"

Director Farah Khan? wrote, " Left worli at 2.. still at santa cruz at 5.. n contrary to rumours sea link was fully functional (sic)"

Actress Deepika Padukone? tweeted, "While I do this, alerts showing up on my phone about the rains in Mumbai. Please stay safe and take care everyone."

Actor Abhishek Bachchan? also expressed his concern by tweeted, "Stay safe Mumbai."

However, Mumbai Police also tweeted, "If you are stuck on the road , kindly dial 100 or contact us on Twitter. We will assist you #MumbaiRains"

The special weather forecast bulletin said that the active monsoon condition is likely to see Maharashtra experiencing a heavy spell for the next three days. This includes-

Day 1- August 29 to August 30- rainfall likely at most places in the districts of konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha and at many places over Marathwada.

Day 2-August 30 to August 31-rainfall likely at most places in the districts of Konkan: at many places over districts of Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha and at a few places in the districts of Marathwada.

Day 3-August 31 to September 1- rainfall likely at most places in the districts of Konkan, at a few places over districts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha.
