Mumbai schoolboy slams 1000 runs, breaks all-time cricket record

Mumbai teenager Pranav Dhanavde created history as he became the first cricketer in the world to score 1000 runs in one innings.

Pranav, who was playing for KC Gandhi School, smashed 127 boundaries and 59 sixes to reach his unbeaten knock of 1009 on the second day of the two-day match against Arya Gurukul School.

The 15-year-old's brilliant performance helped his side to declare their innings on world record of 1465, while the opposition side were bundled out for 31 yesterday.

Extending their tribute to Dhanavde, the Maharashtra government has announced to look after the education and coaching expenses of the schoolboy.
