Mothers feel more exhausted than fathers in their office work, housework, child care and even in leisure activities.
The Pew Research Center has revealed that though high percentages of mothers and fathers reported that caring for children is the most meaningful way they spend their time, more than twice as many mothers said that they feel tired while doing it, the Washington Post reported.
Report author Wendy Wang said that the reason why mothers feel more drained out is because they spend much more time than fathers in handling physical care and also do more managerial and educational care, which requires a lot of energy.
Researchers have found that mothers largely carry the psychic burden of parenting, which is adds to the exhaustion.
