British number one Andy Murray has revealed he knew Rafael Nadal was struggling with a wrist injury when he played with the nine-time champion during a practice session ahead of the French Open.
Nadal shocked the tennis fans by pulling out of the tournament ahead of his third round contest, saying that he would have suffered a serious injury had he not withdrawn from the event.
Murray, who reached the last 16 at Roland Garros, said that the Spaniard's withdrawal from the French Open was a great shame for the tournament as well as for his fans, Sport24 reported.
Nadal had been expected to meet top-ranked Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.
