British number one Andy Murray started the year on a winning note as he bagged his first title of 2015 after world number one Novak Djokovic pulled out of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship final showdown in Abu Dhabi on account of illness.

Djokovic, who defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals, said that he had been sick then with a fever and he was not fit to play, the BBC reported.

Murray, who swept aside Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-0 in the semifinals, revealed that he felt pain in his shoulder but confirmed that it was fine, adding that there weren't any tears instead just soreness.

Murray also confirmed that he would fly to Perth to continue his build-up to the Australian Open, which is scheduled to start from 19 January.
