British number one Andy Murray eased into the third round of the US Open with a straight set victory over German Matthias Bachinger under the lights on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Murray, who had struggled with a cramp in the last round against Robin Haase, beat Bachinger 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to win in an hour and 46 minutes to set up a meeting with Russian Andrey Kuznetsov on Saturday.

Murray, seeded eighth, said that the second and third sets was good tennis, they had some fun points, adding that he moved well and struggled a lot in his first match but he pulled up okay, The Mirror reported.

Murray said that he loves to play a night session, adding that he came to watch the women's final when he was 15 years old and sat right at the top. He said that he always wanted to come back and play one himself.
