Extending a helping hand to distressing refugees especially children, British tennis star Andy Murray has pledged to donate 50 pounds for every ace he hits until the end of the year to Unicef, the world's leading children's organisation.

Announcing his commitment to the cause, Murray said that he was moved by the harrowing images of the plight of millions of children and their families who have been forced to flee their homes and had their lives turned upside down, the Guardian reported.

Urging his fans to support Unicef's vital work, the 28-year-old tennis pro said that he would draw satisfaction from each ace he hits knowing that it would be helping Unicef keep children safe.

Europe is facing its worst humanitarian crisis since World War II, primarily due to the four-year-old civil war in Syria, which has displaced more than four million people this year.
