British number one tennis player Andy Murray has become American sports and active-wear brand Under Armour's newest spokesperson as he signed a contract to become the latest face of the company.

The Scot, who joins fellow tennis player Sloane Stephens as well as American skier Lindsey Vonn and supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was named as part of Under Armour's athlete roster in a four-year deal that would see Murray wear the brand's apparel, footwear and accessories and also appear in the brand's campaigns and appearances from January 2015.

Under Armour's Ryan Kuehl said that Murray's remarkable character, competitive spirit and unmatched ability make the world number six perfect fit for their family, NY Daily News reported.

The former Wimbledon and US Open champion and current holder of the Olympic gold medal in the sport praised the brand's unmatched focus on training and performance.
