The Manohar Lal Khattar-led government in a status report submitted today in the Punjab and Haryana High Court mentioned that it has not received any complaint of rape or molestation, adding that the investigation into the Murthal incident is on.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court had sought a detailed report from the Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) and the Home Secretary on alleged gang-rapes in Murthal near Sonepat during the Jat agitation.
Taking suo motto cognizance of the issue after it emerged that some women passengers were allegedly raped near Murthal, the High Court had earlier said that victims of the alleged sexual assault could file their complaints directly with the Chief Judicial Magistrates instead of going to the police.
The Haryana Police had yesterday confirmed that it received a call from the woman on Saturday morning and her statement was recorded on Sunday.
Earlier, some locals, including truck drivers, had claimed they had seen women being dragged to the fields by the protesters.
