Pakistan's special court for the trial of former president General Pervez Musharraf on treason charges has adjourned its hearing until January 1 amid security fears for the former military ruler.
Musharraf failed to appear in the court for his first hearing of the high treason case after explosives were found near the road, which he was to take to reach the court, Dawn News reports.
According to the report, the police found five kilograms of explosives and detonators.
Head of the special court bench Justice Faisal Arab, meanwhile, asked Musharraf's lawyers to file an application to exempt him from appearing in person.
The government has laid five charges on Musharraf, which include abrogating, subverting, suspending, holding in abeyance and attempting to conspire against the 1973 Constitution by declaring emergency and overthrowing the superior judiciary in November 2007.
