Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf has accused India of suppressing and destabilising Islamabad and threatened that they have built nuclear weapons for defence purposes and not for celebratory occasions.

The 71-year-old Pakistani politician said that they didn't want to use nuclear capability, but if their existence came under threat then they would do so; their nukes are not for occasions like Shab-e-Barat, the Tribune has reported.

Musharraf also asked India not to attack Pakistan or challenge their territorial integrity because they have a major nuclear power.
