Senior leaders of the Muslim community from across the country called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, to apprise him of their concern regarding emerging threat of terrorism.
The delegation included Syed Sultan-Ul-Hasan Chishti Misbahi (Sazzada Nashin, Ajmer Sharif), Sheikh Wasim Ashrafi (Imam Tanzeem, Mumbai), Allama Tasleem Raaza Sahib (Dargah Barelvi Sharif, UP), Maulana Abu Bakr Basani (Nagori Sharif Dargah, Rajasthan), Syed Ali Akbar (Taajpura Sharif, Chennai) and Haji Abdul Hafiz Khan (Imam, Tanzeem Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh).
A release from the Prime Minister's Office stated that the leaders expressed apprehensions about the 'trend' of increased radicalisation and emerging threat of terrorism while underlining the need for greater unity and collective efforts to meet the challenge during the meeting.
The leaders also discussed issues relating to properties of Muslim shrines, Mosques and Madrassas with the Prime Minister. They also sought the support of the government in providing better facilities to Muslim youth, particularly in the field of education.
The release further stated that Prime Minister Modi assured the Muslim leaders of his full support in meeting the grievances of all sections of society. He also emphasised the need of empowerment of the Muslim youth to enable them to play a larger role in nation building.

Prime Minister Modi specifically assured the leaders that he will look into their grievances on shrines, Mosques and Madrassas. He further promised his complete assistance in ameliorating their social conditions and addressing their educational requirements.
The Muslim leaders reiterated full support of the community to the Prime Minister in meeting his objectives of ensuring speedy economic growth, promoting communal harmony and peace and strengthening national security.
