Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that the wakeup call to eat healthier came after her late father, director Bruce Paltrow, was diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago.

The 'Iron Man 3' star, who covers the debut issue of Beach magazine, talked to the publication about how seeing her own father's health dwindle made her open her eyes, Us magazine reported.

"I started to research anti-cancer diets in hopes that he would try to hit it from all angles," she said.

Bruce died in October 2002 at age 58 due to complications of cancer and pneumonia.

She said that it's about being mindful about what you are putting in.

Paltrow added that good whole foods are the way we have eaten for generations and it's amazing how good you feel when you just cut out the processed stuff.
