Myanmar's Navy has reportedly rescued 208 victims of human trafficking amid escalating global pressure on the country to tackle a regional migration crisis.

According to The Daily Star, a senior official in the western Myanmarese state of Rakhine, Tin Maung Swe, said that around 200 Bengalis were on one of the two boats found by a navy ship.

The Government of Myanmar uses the name "Bengali" to refer to the Rohingya minority members, as public officials have refused to use the latter term.
