World number eight Rafael Nadal has denied the report about him declining to play with controversial Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios in a doubles match of the charity event, saying that he was never asked to play with the bad boy.
The two-time Wimbledon champion had played a singles match against Lleyton Hewitt of Australia in New York, while Kyrgios took part in double match with the host John McEnroe.
The 14-time Grand Slam champion said that he always thought he had to play against Hewitt, Sport24 reports.
Earlier, Nadal reportedly refused to play with the Kyrgios following the latter's insulting remark against Stan Wawrinka during their recent Rogers Cup clash in Montreal.
