Nadine Koutcher has claimed the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World title.

The 32-year-old Belarus resident beat 19 other finalists from across the world in the week-long competition to win the crown at Cardiff's St David's Hall, the BBC has reported.

Along with the coveted trophy, Koutcher gets to go home with 15,000 pounds prize money, and will perform composer John Lunn's new piece at the BBC Proms 2016.

Meanwhile, Amartuvshin Enkhbat from Mongolia won the Audience prize.

The competitions, which started back in 1983, are aimed to find the gifted classical singers of the future.
