It was a jam-packed session at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium when thousands of people from different Naga tribes living in the capital city came together for the 'NSUD Nite 2014'- the 51st edition of the annual night cum fresher's meet of the Naga Students Union, Delhi.

The annual event aims at fostering unity among the Nagas, besides promoting their cultural legacy.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju addressed the event as the Chief Guest and called for unity among the northeastern people at large.

The event witnessed a colorful array of performances including the unique warrior dance of the Sumi Naga community and a melodious performance by the Naga Christian Fellowship choir.

A harmony dance featuring artists representing different Naga tribes was one of the major attractions.

Yet another highpoint was the fashion parade wherein the participants walked down the ramp dressed in traditional attires of different Naga tribes.

A competition to adjudge the Miss and Mr. Fresher was also held.

The excited crowd got to sample different genres of music through performances by several popular bands from the Northeast like the Tetseo Sisters, Red Light Passengers and October story.

Eka, a band based out of Delhi and the only non-northeastern band at the event also enthralled the audience.

Lost and Found, a young promising band from Manipur's Senapati district, who were performing outside Northeast for the 1st time, had the crowd rocking to their tunes.

The band that specializes in melodic metal, power metal, and rock is fast gaining popularity and was happy to have got such a big platform.

A large number of youth from the Northeast come to the Capital every year for better education and employment opportunities.
