India's public sector undertaking National Aluminium Co. Ltd. (NALCO) has indicated that it will be meeting with key officials of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Iran's Ambassador to India Gholamreza Ansari next week to discuss the possibility of setting up an aluminium smelter-cum-power plant complex in Iran.
According to reports, NALCO chairman and managing director Tapan Kumar Chand has said he would like to take discussions on the 2.6 billion dollar proposal forward with the concerned authorities, given the close bilateral ties that both India and Iran share.
