The French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte's classic Italian villa in Piedmont is up for sale for just 5.8 million dollars.

On 24 hectares with 74-room estate and its own chapel, Villa La Voglina in Italy's Piedmont region was the Gallic leader's headquarters, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The 15-bedroom property was built in the 18th century from a design by the esteemed baroque architect Filippo Juvarra. A vineyard on the sprawling land is not operating, but could produce 100,000 bottles of wine a year if it started production.

Napoleon stayed at Villa La Voglina during the Battle of Marengo, a bloody feud in 1800 between French forces and the Austrians near the city of Alessandria, in Piedmont.
