New Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly targeting controversial Liverpool player Luis Suarez as a replacement for hot-property striker Edinson Cavani, although Suarez wants a move to Real Madrid.
According to the Mirror, the former Chelsea and Liverpool boss believes that Suarez is the player to fill the void left by 50 million pounds-rated superstar Cavani, who is also wanted by Chelsea.
Benitez said that he believes that Napoli can still snatch Suarez as Real has yet to make a move for the Uruguayan, adding that the signing of Cavani would limit Real's cash reserves needed to buy Suarez.
Meanwhile, Manchester City's pursuit of Cavani appears to be over as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said that City does not have 63 million euros to buy Cavani, adding that the club is not interested in any player that City gives up for Cavani.
