NASA along with a team of researchers is developing a biodegradable drone that self-destructs to leave no trace of its existence after its use.

According to CNN, the drone is made from a substance that combines mushroom fibers called mycelium and cloned paper wasp spit.

Lynn Rothschild, the NASA developer guiding students from Stanford-Brown-Spelman working on the project, says the drone could be made to disappear simply by ditching it into a stream or puddle, the report says.

The biodegradable drone is capable of flying into environmentally sensitive areas, leaving no trace behind.
