Former England captain Naseer Hussain believes Jason Gillespie to be the right man to turn the fortunes for the struggling England team, following the sacking of Peter Moores as coach.

Moores, who also coached England from 2007 to 2009, was fired for the 2nd time after the appointment of Andrew Strauss as director of England cricket.

Gillespie, who is currently the coach of Yorkshire, holds the credit for producing players like Joe Root and Gary Ballance for the English side.

Hussain said that he was very happy with the way Yorkshire had performed, adding that Gillespie takes a lot of credit for it, Sport24 reported.

However, the former Australian bowler said that he would look for any opportunity that presents itself.

Peter Farbrace, currently England assistant coach, will be in charge for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand that starts at Lord's from May 21.

But that still leaves the possibility that Gillespie could be in permanent command of England when they face Australia in the Ashes starting from July 8.
