Natalie Portman's directorial debut to be showcased at Cannes

'Black Swan' actress Natalie Portman is all set to debut as a director at the upcoming Cannes International Film Festival.

The 33-year-old star took the director's chair to adapt memoirs of Israeli writer Amos Oz, 'A Tale of Love and Darkness' to big screen, which narrates the story about the birth and the early days of Israel and its conflict with Palestine, E!online reported.

However, the actress, who also confessed that she didn't really know where she had kept her Oscar, said she wasn't aiming for an Academy Award.

Portman, who doesn't believe in worshipping false Gods and false idols, lives with her family in Paris with the cultural diversity and freedom, and said that that she hopes that her children will take up the fine arts as well.
