Describing Narendra Modi's Gujarat to be the safest place for women, and a corruption-free state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti on Friday said the nation is looking for a person like him.

"Gujarat is the only state in India where you can get work done without paying bribes. It is the only state where there is no corruption. It is a state where women are the safest, and in Gujarat, it takes the same time to travel by road and by helicopter," she said while addressing a rally here.

"A person who can assure the safety of women, a person who can promise that kind of development and a person who can give a corruption-free government, the people of this country are looking for a person like him, she added.

She further claimed that if Muslims are happy anywhere in India, it is in Gujarat and not in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP President Rajnath Singh and party's prime ministerial aspirant Narendra Modi were also present at the rally.
