Nation pays homage to Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant on his 127th birth anniversary

The nation on Wednesday paid homage to former Union Home Minister Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant on his 127th birth anniversary.

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu paid floral tributes at the statue of Pandit Pant near Parliament House today.

Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant served as Union Home Minister from 1955-1961. In 1955, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna. As the country's Home Minister, his chief achievement was the re-organisation of states along linguistic lines.
