The National Conference (NC) on Sunday demanded a discussion on the recent terror attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, saying it is a matter of great concern as contradicting statements are being made in this regard.
National Conference leader Devendra Rana said contradictory statements are coming from different quarters with regard to the terror attacks.
"The honourable Chief Minister says 'non-state actors'. Ministers from Delhi blame some particular element, they blame Pakistan. Some in the state are saying it is the fault of the Army and BSF. The Jammu and Kashmir Police yesterday said there are no contacts. There is so much contradiction. We have brought in an adjournment motion because we wanted a discussion on this," said Rana.
"This is a serious matter and the house must discuss and it should know what are the reasons, what are the elements, who are involved, what are the measures that are been taken to ensure that this does not reoccur. The Speaker did not even give the reasons for rejecting the adjournment motion, simply said that the adjournment is rejected," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed resolution against the terror attacks in Samba and Kathua districts and urged the Centre to take up this issue with Pakistan.
