The Supreme Court on Friday will hear the pleas of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi against the Delhi High Court verdict refusing to quash summons issued to them in the National Herald case.
The matter is listed before a Bench of Justices J S Khehar and C Nagappan.
Earlier, a Bench comprising Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justice R Banumathi had assured senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing the Gandhi family, saying they will look into it for giving an urgent hearing.
Sibal said Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy, who has filed the criminal complaint against the United Progressive Alliance chairperson and five others, had earlier agreed to February 12 and now he was saying that he is not available till 19th of this month.
A magistrate court had fixed February 20 for their appearance in the court.
