Meeting for the second time in three days, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with the Pakistan chief of army General Raheel Sharif to discuss the political situation in the country.
According to reports, Sharif and the army chief discussed the various dialogues that had been held
between the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leadership. Both felt that only by resuming negotiations would the political deadlock in the country end.
Meanwhile, PAT chief Tahirul Qadri rejected the FIR that was filed in connection to the Lahore deaths in June, claiming that Nawaz Sharif's name was not included in it. He also said that sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure, pertaining to terrorism have also not been incorporated in the FIR.
Qadri also referred to supporters of PTI and his party as 'first cousins' and said that he and PTI chief Imran Khan were brothers.
