Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said terror incidents, like the attack on Peshawar church, are not a good omen for the intended peace dialogue with the Taliban.

Nawaz said that the government was unable to proceed any further on what it had envisaged for the nation, the Daily Times reports.

Nawaz expressed grief and shock over the brutality of the terrorists for killing innocent citizens in the church of Peshawar on Sunday.

Nawaz directed Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to devise a new security plan to protect the places of worship of all minorities, including churches, the report added.

President Mamnoon Hussain also called for strict safety measures for the protection of innocent citizens, regardless of which religion and community they belong to.
