Top secret Nazi documents have revealed that German troops plotted Britain's invasion by using pictures from post cards and calendars.
A war dossier dubbed the 'Nazi A-Z of Great Britain' has uncovered the cities Adolf Hitler wanted to destroy and where the Germans wanted to settle, the Daily Express reported.
It explains how postcards identifying British landmarks were given to troops to prepare them for their planned blitz of the UK.
Iconic sites shown to Hitler's stormtroopers included the Blackpool Tower, the Mersey Tunnel and the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle.
The top secret document also revealed how high-ranking Nazi officers wanted to live in British stately homes and castles.
The dossier was in preparation of the aborted Operation Sealion.
It was scrapped on September 17 1940 after the Luftwaffe failed to gain supremacy over the RAF in the Battle of Britain.
