NCC Cadets save lady from River Yamuna

Brave Heart National Cadet Corps (NCC) of 2 Delhi Naval Unit of Delhi Directorate on Friday saved a middle aged woman who had jumped into the Yamuna River at about 11.30 a.m.

The NCC cadets who were on a routine training mission for Yachting and Sailing along with three boats including one rescue boat noticed that a middle aged lady had jumped into the Yamuna river from the DND flyover.

The unit's 'Rescue and Safety boat' under the command of Petty Officer AK Sharma were training in the vicinity of the place of incident.

On seeing the lady drowning, the unit's 'Rescue and Safety boat' under the command of Petty Officer AK Sharma immediately rushed to the site and with great tact and presence of mind managed to rescue the lady.

 

The lady was later shifted in an unconscious state inside the rescue boat with the help of three Cadets Vikash, Ashish and Rahul. The incident was immediately reported by the unit control room.

As soon as the lady regained her consciousness, she was handed over to the police team who came in a PCR Van.
