The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday took a jibe at Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's decision to stay the circular on changing the land -related circle rates for farmers issued by the Delhi Government and alleged that he has taken this decision on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instructions.
"After the Land Acquisition Bill, this step by the Lieutenant Governor, instructed by Narendra Modi, that circle rates which was to benefit farmers of Delhi, should not go ahead," AAP spokesperson Ashutosh said.
He also alleged that the NDA Government at the Centre doesn't want farmers of Delhi to benefit.
"This is another example how Narendra Modi and his government, and the BJP is anti-farmer and doesn't want anything which should benefit the farmers," said Ashutosh.
"It has been a very long-pending demand, the farmers wanted that since property rates have gone up, but the circle rate still remains the same. So, it should be increased by four to five percent, and that's what the AAP government has done," he added.
